Impossible to delete .EXE .DLL - "File In Use"

Hi,

I used to delete directly any type of file pressing my DEL keyboard key after selecting the file inside TC7.56a (clicking once on it)

Lately, for some reason, I can't delete anymore .DLL & .EXE files. However, it works with .PDF .DAT .RTF .ZIP .TXT...

I get a dialog box that says: "File In Use - The action can't be completed because the file is open in Total Commander 32bit - Close the file and try again"

FYI, I'm using W7 SP1 Ultimate 32 bits + latest online updates.

My Recycle Bin Properties have the "Display delete confirmation dialog" UNCHECKED

Total Commander have "Operation", "Copy/Delete", "Use Explorer delete method" CHECKED

Any idea what's wrong?

Do you use any plugins or custom columns?

You may also try to check with OpenedFilesView what application is blocking your exe/dll files.

it seems like one of your plugin(s) is holding on to one of the exe/dlls it needs. if OpenedFilesView does not work for you, try the sysinternals utility ProcessExplorer. Once opened, click on Find from the menu and click on "Find Handle or DLL". You should then get a list of all opened handles. Search for totalcmd.

Well I tried. As long as TC is running, the EXE or DLL that I tried to delete stay in memory : Image: http://c6c.free.fr/pic.png Then if I quit TC, the EXE or DLL is unloaded. BTW, I forgot to mention that my Windows Explorer delete these EXE & DLL files without any problem...

Thank you for this suggestion but it didn't help.

I've just noticed that something strange happens. If I select 4 .EXE files, then press DEL key, most of these .EXE files will be deleted. I said "most" because sometimes all of them are deleted OR 3 of them OR 2 of them. But if I select only one .EXE file, I can't delete it.

I've noticed that this problem ONLY happens when Total Commander have "Operation", "Copy/Delete", "Use Explorer delete method" CHECKED

When you check the Explorer delete method, TC itself has no influence on the functions - it just tells the system (via OLE2) to delete the files.
