Remote file manage function on local area network

Post by *saveras »

I am using TC (WinC) from version 1 or 2. And i wondering if it is possible to have remote function in TC for accessing file system on another PC without moving ass and annoying associates.
Maybe this idea is not new, but it would be useful ...
Thanks in advance :)

Hi.
I also thought about something like "Remote-TC"?...

If i install a TotalCommander on a server and one on my client... it would be really cool to use my client-TC as "frontend" for the one on the server...

this is getting even more interesting since there is an android-version, too.
(controling android-fs from windows-tc and vice versa...)

for example, if i want to unpack a big zip/rar-file on server, i have to connect via rdp to do so (or else every part of the file is sent to my client via lan and back... )
moving a file on the fileserver is the same effect...

this would be one more unique TC-function no other (at least i dont know any) Filemanager has. :)

Greetings

Why not to open server folder via network and do required operations?

Cause then my local pack-program is used for (un)zipping... So all the data has to be sent to client via lan, gets (un)packed and back to server.

But i want the data not to cross lan... The server should do everything... I just want to have a effecive interface for telling him. => totalcommander

(replace "lan" with "wan" and the benefit gets even bigger.)
