Right click context menu search function: Windows 7

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but on my Windows 2K computers I can right click on a directory in TC and from the context menu I can search and it opens up a search box already pointing at the directory I executed the menu from.

Under Windows 7 however using the exact same technique, there is no search option to choose. I'm unsure if this is a Windows thing or a TC thing. Does anyone know how I can get Windows 7 to behave the same as it does under W2K? I need to use the search function this way an awful lot in my job and it is inconvenient how it doesn't work as expected.

This was removed by Microsoft in Vista Service Pack 1 for some strange reason, and not added back to Windows 7.

I'm not sure what you mean, explorer has a search box to the right of the address path/breadcrumb - that has all the options the old Search Panel had.

You can also save the search, reopen it again/later.

As well you can install Explorer extensions, like:
1) StExBar: among many things like custom buttons, a command line box.
2) QTTabBar: among many things like add Tabs to explorer, a quick filter box.
