Some mounted drives are not totally supported in TC

Post by *billiebub »

Some mounted drives like Apple storage from the iPhone and GmailFS are not shown in the drop down drive box but they are shown in explorer. You can still get to the drives from the \\My Computer\ place but you don't get the functionalities associated with TC like thumbnail view or quick view.

Is there a reason for not supporting such drives?

They are made via virtual folders which have limited functionality.

The iPhone is mounted under Portable Devices in Windows 7 and explorer treats it as a removable disk. What I was wondering about is if Explorer can generate thumbnails for the iPhone mounted drive, then shouldn't TC be able to do so as well? Shouldn't TC be able to see this mounted portable device?

TC only shows drives with drive letters in the dropdown box.

Some virtual folders can be seen by clicking on the triangle to the left of the current path, though.
