Intaller tries to make setup into the following path "C:\Program Files (x86)\totalcmd" in x64 Windows 7 by default. Should be "C:\Program Files\totalcmd" (without " (x86)").

This was described several times. TC just suggests to be installed where it is already located, and by default it places itself neither into Program Files, nor into Program Files (x86)

This point has been brought up more than once before and answered like this:
The idea / rule that 64-bit software should be installed in the folders below "C:\Program Files" is not mandatory.
As you can install both versions of Total Commander 8, x32 and x64 into the same folder, installing below "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Fiels (x86)", both are equally correct or equally wrong (50/50).
So suggesting to install Total Commander below "C:\Program Files (x86)" is neither right, nor wrong. Definitely, it does not qualify as a bug.

Generally spoken, right. It used to be installed into the programs-directory, and when you install 32bit-software, it goes into the program files (x86) directory. Normally, when you release 64bit-software, it is fully working for x64 and 32bit. When it is necessary to handle 3rd-party 32bit-addons (For example: like browser addons or Antivirus), it can go into each other of the program-directories, that' right.
But Total Commander is released as 64bit OR 32bit - but not together.
That makes the difference. Thats the users choice for 64Bit - when he wants to use 32bit Plugins, he needs to download and install the separate x86 version of the TC. And this one never goes into the "Program files"-directory but into the "(x86)", for sure.
(Even with admin-rights) it is an awful decision to ignore these standards from the supported operating system (Like Win7x64). Don't install to C:\totalcmd. Do not put the "wincmd.ini" in the Windows-directory. Don't install 3rd-party addons(x86) into the Program files-directory from 64bit windows. I hope you don't do this.
