Remove source file in Move dialog if same target exists

Post by *EricB »

Some scenario I come across quite often:

When I move a selected file to a (large) target directory using F6, it may already exist. TC reports this in an overwrite dialog stating some details on source and target file, like name, size, date and in my case also MD5 hash (custom fields checked).

It would be very useful to have an extra option under the More Options button to delete the source file. This saves me the trouble of canceling/skipping the overwrite dialog, and then refind the file I wanted to move. On cancel or skip the selection marker on the source file is lost, so I have to reselect it and then delete it.

The loss of the selection marker is especially problematic when some files at random positions in the file list are selected for move. One has to go through the complete list again to reselect.

Regards, EricB

I agree that it would be a good idea to have something like 'Delete source' in additional options.
