Android and Windows Connected

Post by *JohnTC »

I would like to see TC connect my Windows computer to my Android phone.

I am picturing being able to browse the file system on my phone using TC.

I'd like the two TCs to be able to connect automatically, either by cable, bluetooth, or wifi. Once configured I'm picturing never having to start anything or configure anything.

Bonus points if there were a way to set up persistent syncs, so that certain configured directories sync'd automatically when they were connected. Sync would be either one way, the other way, or both ways.

That would be awesome.

Thanks.

Tried MyPhoneExplorer http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ or would you absolutely prefer a TC solution?

Funny you should mention MyPhoneExplorer. I just tried it. It's a nice app. It's the closest thing to automatic I've found so far.

There are FTP solutions, but they don't seem secure. Seems a little dubious to have an FTP server on your phone, wherever you take it. And I'm assuming you can only share certain directories.

I want it all. I want the root directory of the phone, and everything in it.

And of course I want a TC solution! As far as I'm concerned, there is no better paradigm for file exploration and management than the two pane paradigm, and no better implementation than TC. If I had a computer brain implant, I'd want TC to run on it. ;)
