PC slow while copying large files.

Post by *mrboonmee »

PC is Win7 x86, my HTPC.

when copying files to an external USB drive or local disk, the PC is too slow to use.

CPU usage is about 8%

Have tried TC 7 and 8 Beta.

It's Intel G31 chipset with E8500 CPU and 2GB RAM.

Hello mrboonmee,
Does this happen with Explorer, too?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Works slightly faster with Explorer, still not fast, so may not be an TC issue. I will use Explorer for now. Strange.

Try disabling your anti-virus, then test the transfer.

Same with Microsoft Security Essentials disabled.

Doesn't appear to really be a TC issue. PC works slightly faster using Windows Explorer, still slow..

Maybe i just need to build a new box, just figured a 3ghz core2 duo was fine for what i am doing.

thanks again.
