Remote editing without confirmation

Post by *pneff »

I use the SFTP plugin extensively to do remote edits. At the moment every time I close my editor Total Commander then asks me if I want to re-upload the files or not.

Is there a way to configure Total Commander to automatically re-upload the file without asking?

I checked the wincmd.ini documentation in the Wiki but couldn't find such a setting there.

Thanks

No.

A few threads on the subject,
FTP Editing online Files (Improvement) (2010-2011)
FTP upload on background change? (2011)

One author claims it's been discussed/requested since 2005, I haven't searched that far back. There are other threads relating to the issue though.
*BLINK* TC9 Added WM_COPYDATA and WM_USER queries for scripting.

Thanks Balderstrom, I hadn't found those threads when searching.

I agree with Christian that automatically re-uploading the file when it changes has its challenges due to the temp file.

In my case I was wondering about a less drastic improvement; just getting rid of the confirmation dialog for uploading. I personally don't have an issue with closing my editor after doing edits.

I don't.

All the sftp clients (around 5) that I've tried auto-upload when the local editor saves the file: No confirmation dialog. No closing of the editor. Comparatively, using TC for web-development is painful.
