bug: Ctrl-U lost cursor position

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

steps:
1. open any large directory
2. put cursor in the middle of list (List type = Brief)
3. press Ctrl-U (Source <-> Target)

This is not a bug - the cursor position remains where it was on that side, it's not moved with the contents.

But why? I don't understand logic.
If on left panel was selected somekind of file on disk C:, but on right panel somekind of directory on disk D:, why we need keep cursor positions related to panel side? In result we will have, after Ctrl-U, randomly selected files on same positions.
In what kind of situations we need this logic? I can understand this logic only if on both panels we have same directory... although no, here too, don't understand :)

thank you.

May be we need setting on this function? :) Because, for example, in my every day working, current behavior is not comfortable...
