TC 8 Beta - poss. BUG config.sys autoexec.BAT

Post by *johnw »

my system:Windows 7 (32 bit).
TotalCommander displays these (config.sys, autoexec.bat) with an attr of just 'a' yet in windows explorer attrib column they are 'HSA'. Do you think this is a bug?

Hello johnw,
What does Alt-Enter say?

Hello, johnw.

Total Commander and e.g. the Microsoft commandline programme attrib.exe tell the truth: autoexec.bat and config.sys on Windows 7 32-bit have got the attribute "a" only. The attributes "h" and "s" have not been set by default.
So whatever the attribute column in Explorer may say, right-clicking on autoexec.bat or config.sys and selecting properties will confirm that the attributes hidden and system have not been set.

Summary:
Pretending autoexec.bat and config.sys were hidden and system is a feature built-in to Explorer.
Total Commander, however, does tell the truth. attrib.exe confirms so.

Total Commander 8.0ß17a 32-bit
