tabstops - cannot save position when "sep. tree" i

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

tabstops - cannot save position when "sep. tree" i

Post by *adom_sapek »

i noticed it in v8.07 and now, after update, in the latest 8.021

this happens only when I,m using separate tree view and I'm trying to change tabstops while "tree view" is active (1 or 2 - makes no difference)

whenever I set new positions for tabstops they are always coming back to "preset" position ("preset" position = position tah was set without "separate tree" view)

coud anybody check this out?
thanks

eta:
actualy to see this TC must be restarted - tabstops will not survive :)

You cannot save the tabstop positions separately for the mode with and without tree view. The tabstops are always saved as if there was no tree view, and then adjusted to the new width caused by the tree view. There is a minimum name column width, TC will not save smaller widths. I recommend that you save the column width with tree view off if you have this problem.

I followed your advice and set the positions for "tree view" in normal mode (without "tree view") and now they work as expected.

It was just very difficult to make any changes to tabstops while in "tree view" - after restart they were increased by width of "tree window" - and that's why I though there was something wrong - all the time different numbers.

Thanks for clarification.
