Quickview a file with URL extension

Post by *nn1k3 »

Is there a wlx or wdx way to see information about files with extension=url ?

For example:
Google Advanced Search.URL

Code: Select all

[{000214A0-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}]
Prop3=19,2
[InternetShortcut]
URL=http://www.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en
IDList=
IconFile=http://www.google.com/favicon.ico
IconIndex=1

Which pieces of information do you have in mind?

Maybe one of these:

URL Shortcut Viewer plugin 1.1.1.0:

CopyLinkTarget 1.10

LinkInfo 1.52

Karl, I would simply like to see the URL in a custom column.

FYI The "URL" column using Shelldetails.wdx is always null for me.

Peter, Your 3 suggestions were interesting but not what I wanted today.
1) urlview.wlx shows the web page.
2) I couldn't get copylinktarget.wcx to do anything.
3) linkinfo.wlx is essential for viewing LNK files, but not useful for URL files, even after this tweak which I don't recommend:

Code: Select all

force | (ext="LNK") | (ext="URL")

Sorry, that was all that I know.
Well, maybe there is a discussion on "LinkInfo"?

I'm all set now, thanks. FYI This works best for me:
[=shelldetails.Link target] reveals the target of both URL and LNK files. Very useful.

Code: Select all

Contents15=[=shelldetails.Link target]

I'm using both - URL Grank and ShellDetails (this one for many other fields too)

URL Grank - ( http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/urlwdx.html )
is what you initially ask - content plugin for URL files.

BTW - this is direct URL to your post:
