conversion rates US$ to AUD$

Post by *louwin »

I don't want to complain or make a fuss or upset anyone but the conversion rate from US$ to AUD$ is about 1.09 BUT the price is US$46 or AUD$50 :( :)

I realise the conversion rate changes all the time but 1.09 is reasonably current rate :)

So it should be about AUD$42.20????

This price is just for sending cheques - we have to pay very high fees to cash them. If you order online, you pay the normal price in US$, and your bank makes the conversion (which is usually about 2% above the normal exchange rate).

Hello.

Do you have any plans of offering any discounts in the near future? I've seen some offerings of other file managers in bitsdujour recently and i was wondering if Total Commander will be featured too one of these days. Would definitely be very nice.

Thanks Mr. Ghisler for all your work.

Please be so kind and read the complete thread.
As pointed out before the answer to your question is no.
There allready exist discounts if you are a student
other then that there is no need for it because you have to
pay for TC only once in Chris live while all other
Commanders you have to pay for every new Version :!:

Such a good tool, I like to pay more.

For such a good tool which I can not use the PC without it, I like to pay more or donate some money. The support from this Forum is also very good.

ghisler(Author) wrote:With 32 Euro, TC is a bit more expensive, but with some benefits which you don't get with most other programs:
- all future upgrades are free. We will never charge for them except if we are forced to (e.g. because of patent licensing).
- you are allowed to use TC with just one licence on an unlimited number of computers, even at the same time.
- licences are needed only for the number of users at the same time. Usage by one user on multiple computers counts as just one licence.
I agree the licensing is generous. The money I spent on TotalCmd was some of the best dollars I have spent on any software. I can't remember which year I registered, but I'm one of the earlier supporters at number 580.

For those (like Sir somebody) who don't think 32 Euros is expensive have never seen what poverty is. In many poor countries, that is a lot of money. Obviously there are also many people who wouldn't like to pay even if they can afford it. If you are looking at a piece of software like an Apple app at $0.99 or $1.99, then it really makes no sense for any user not to pay for it.

Nice taking my saying out of context - I said compared to other Commanders TC is CHEAP and that is a fact...
I never that that 32 Euro isnt much money in some countries....

But no dont bother reading my post completly and try to understand it.

I guess that is to much to ask of someone who compares a Programm
with a simple Ipod/Pad-App....
Oh and ofc people who have no money to pay for TC have ofc an Ipad/Pod and money to buy Apps....

PS: I live in Berlin so dont say Ive never seen poverty...

Perhaps I didn't understand your English correctly. For that I apologize.

Sure I'm only someone who can swipe across the screen and pinch :) Don't you think you have taken my comments out of context about iPod/iPhone? That was a nice swipe though :) I can take it right on the chin. I also admit that I don't know TotalCmd as much as you do, I see you have earned your Power user badge and I respect that. But saying all iPod/iPhone apps are simple is probably too much of a generalization. I'll let other users to judge. BTW, do you happen to own an iPod or iPhone or a Mac?

I would never ever associate poverty with Berlin! Yes, there are poor people in every city even in the US. But you (not literally you) really don't know what poverty is until you have been to some parts of India and China many other parts of Asia. In those countries, you can't even expect any help from the government.

Why do you think that the upgrade to the 64-bit version wouldn't be free? Of course it will be free, like all previous upgrades.

For me it was the best value for the money ever.
This software saved me countless hours of manual work and verification. Mr. Ghisler has always offered exemplar support over email and has quickly corrected tons of bugs.
Sure, I also felt that an upfront EUR 32 was high, but that feeling got away within hours of purchase. Receiving the CD over mail was a great surprise (I'm pretty sure that also must have cost a bit) and free upgrades are something you don't usually get. I know what it means to switch from Delphi to Lazarus and I can only appreciate the efforts to make the port.
I would personally consider even paying an annual maintenance fee. It is high quality software and the author should be supported.

Use of TC

Post by *omdawe »

I started to use VC then NC since 1993 and it was not until a couple of years a go i got my own reg for it.

But now i feels like TC do something for my daily work flow like nothing else, and now i feel it price less.

I think you should use TC until u feel the same.
