Disable inline rename by mouse

Post by *wanderer »

There seems to be no way to do that, right? In many years of using TC, i have noticed that many times, inline rename gets accidentally activated when using the mouse. Personally, since i exclusively use the keyboard for renaming files (SHIFT+F6), i would appreciate a way to disable the mouse rename behavior (not from the context menu of course, only the single-click behavior).

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Hi, wanderer. Maybe you should check out TC's help:
InplaceRename=1 Enable / disable inplace renaming when clicking twice on a name

InplaceRenamePath=1 Enable (1) / disable (0) inplace changing of current path. The default is the value of InplaceRename, if present, otherwise 1. 2: Disable inplace rename of path, but enable quick directory changes with single click (no shift needed)

InplaceRenameSync=1 Inplace rename in synchronize dirs when clicking twice on a name
You can find some nice hidden features in there. :)

I thought i had seen such a thing somewhere but if you're searching for "Inline rename" instead of "InplaceRename", you'll never find it. :)

Thanks for pointing it out.
