What about applying RenameSelOnlyName and InplaceOkButton in synchronize dirs too?

I'm indeed considering it for a later version.

"Copy name to Clip" and "Rename" in Sync

Post by *kiwerry »

Problem: when synchronizing, you see that you have a renamed file or directory on one side, the old file or directory on the other (same time, date, size).
Currently I delete the old one, copy the new one across. Not elegant.

It would be very handy to be able to get the new file or directory name into the clipboard, then use it to rename the old one.

Please consider adding these options to the context menu.

It works if you open in-place rename in sync dialog (F6/Shift+F6 or just 2x slow click onto a filename just like in normal panel).

@ MVV: Thanks again. I tried your suggestion, but in my Synchonizewindow, none of my attempt with F6/Shift F6 or two clicks worked like they do in the normal window. There was in all cases simply no reaction.
The window is called up using cm_FileSync.
I am runniing TC 7.57a under XP.

That's because this feature was added in TC 8.0.

OK, that clears the matter up. I had steered clear of 8 because of the beta warning. Thanks for your replies everyone.

Thanks!
It works well into 8th version.

But the progress must and will continue... :)

1) Can I add on right menu those options RENAME LEFT/RIGHT (F6/Shift-F6)? I suppose new or old string in language, or something like those lines from *.lng file: 6261-6284.

2) If I use F2 as a supplementary shortcut for rename operation why is not available also here (synchronize tool) like F3/Shift-F3?

First it's a must have for the new users that don't know the all features but they work a lot with RMB.
The second request it's just a thinking point.
My Best Wishes,

Eugen
