[rc2] WinCDEmu and big files
Hi
I experienced some strange problems with big iso files which should be mounted with WinCDEmu. Small iso's (<300MB) went fine but bigger ones just did not mount. Within the normal Windows Explorer mounting was fine.
After a number of tries to mount a file I found serveral instances of TOTALCMD.EXE in the task manager. The other thing I could see was the cursor shape of a running circle for a few seconds after I clickled on the file. But instead of showing the mount dialoge of WinCDEmu nothing happend.
I changed back to 7.57a and everything went ok.
Today I just wanted to confirm the error. I extracted rc2 to a folder on D partition, but had no problems. Only when I install rc2 to C:\Program Files\... I experience this problem.
Regards

I'm having TC in program files dir too and use WinCDEmu too, but have no problems with it.
Win7x64, any version of TC (both x32 and x64).

I tried it again.
Downloaded v7.57a and v80x32rc2
Installed both (replace installed version methode). With rc2 same problem again, with v7.57a no problem.
I have no idea why this should make any difference. Maybe because of some of our IT policies - I am using a business pc.
Also tried again to remove the old version completely before installing the other one - same behavior.

I don't have any problem either. System: Win7 32 Bit with TC 7.56a and 8.0 RC2, WinCDEmu 3.6. The tested ISOs have DVD size (up to 4.7 GB) and are loaded from a network path (UNC). UAC is enabled and the user is not member of Administrators but only Users. No problem at all.
So there must be something wrong on your system.

Are you running TC8 with higher user rights (run as administrator)?

no, but my user account has Administrator rights.ghisler(Author) wrote:Are you running TC8 with higher user rights (run as administrator)?
Just tried the same thing at home on my privat PC. Here it looks different

It runs well with the new 8.0 final release, but I have problems with 7.57 or 7.57a.
I am already thinking that it might not be related to Totalcmd but to the files itself. I also see it not mounting if I run it from USB drive and want to mount it via Windows Explorer but from HDD it runs ok.
The files I am having problems are GRMSDK_EN_DVD.iso. This are the Windows SDK either for .net 3.5 or 4.0.
It is probably a problem from WinCDEmu itself. Sorry for that false report...
