Support background "normal" search (no plugins) and foreground for enhanced search (with plugins and all).
All we need is a check-box to select the mode we need.
I am on a corporate network to and my searches are over 30 min long sometimes.
Plus i have 6x2Tb hdd in my case, and think about ... search for some file in over 100 millions other is a real pain.
Multiple background search is welcome to and possible with this change.
I use 99% search by file-name or text-content.
I am looking forward for such a change.
Thanks.
Suggestion: Any chance to search in background?

Ukrainian Total Commander Translator. Feedback and discuss.
Right now people have to run a second instance of TC to have a search in the background. Why not making this easier by adding another /S= switch which launches a hidden TC main window and starts the search function (unhidden). When Feed to Listbox is selected, the main window could be unhidden to show the results. Would that be doable?Lefteous wrote:2HackerThis could be done but introduces new problems. The problem is that search results must be displayed inside the TC main window. So the new instance would not only perform the search but also display the results in a new main window. This would lead to an additional instance per search.BTW, now that we have Sync in background, why can't we start Search as another process?
An alternative is inter process communication but this has many problems like communicating with already closed instances.
