Difference between Windows' and my own junction points

Post by *commodore »

In my user's Documents folder on Windows 7, there are three LNKs (junction points) that are Windows native: My Music, My Pictures, My Videos. They do not show in Windows Explorer (when opened in Documents folder), and their targets' contents is not displayed if, in TC, I press CTRL+B in Documents folder.

Using Junction Link Magic, I created another junction point within Documents, which points to Downloads folder. This one is shown in Windows Explorer, and its (target's) contents is also shown when pressing CTRL+B in TC.

So, what's the underlying difference between those three "native" junction points and the one I made?

I think it is attribute 'System' that predefined junctions has and yours miss. Also, predefined junctions have special permissions (directory listing is forbidden).
