Add progres bar to change attributes command

Post by *mmmmario »

Hello, I would like to propose a new feature: show progress bar when changing attributes of files.

I often change attributes of lot files (source code bases, photos..., Qt has 41k small files in 2k directories for example), it takes long time and TC appears frozen during that time. So I suggest to show a progress bar when the operation is running for example longer than 0.5sec and is not done yet.

If you don't want to count number of files up-front, you can show the "infinite" progress bar with "send to background" button. I don't want TC to be frozen during that operation.

Sorry if it is duplicate but I searched the forum but didn't found similar topic and sorry for my bad English. Thank you considering this feature, M.

TC doesn't currently count because it takes about as long as setting the attributes. But I could show a dialog with cancel button and no progress bar as I do when reading a directory takes very long.

ghisler, maybe also number of processed files and current file or directory would be useful also.

I have added it in the meantime for the next version (no counting, but showing the number of changed files).
