Copying big files in TC slows down all other programs

Post by *HeRo »

Hi!

I can't seem to find a way to configure the priority of disk operations in TC when copying big files, so that I can comfortably use other programs in the meantime.

The copy operation only takes a few percent of the CPU-capacity, but it seems to 'grab' almost 100% of the hard-disk read/write capacity, so all other programs run very slowly, every time they need disk operations.
Is there anything to do about that?

I am using TC v. 8.01 32-bit on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Best regards,
Henrik

You may use the Background Transfer Manager of TC for this task.
There you can limit the maximum speed BEFORE starting the copy process.

OK! Thank you. I have never been aware of that.
But can that be combined with files found through Shift-F2 or Commands -> Synchronize folders ?
