How can I hide empty drives but show them when occupied?

Post by *louwin »

A friend of mine has a card reader installed on his system and it shows 4 empty drives on his drive bar.

The card reader has various card slots AND 4 USB3.0 ports. All the other USB ports DON'T show when empty and it would be nice if the same applied for these ports. :?

After much searching we found the option to "DriveBarHide=aqrst\" and this works well but when a card is installed in a slot TC doesn't show an icon on the drive bar :(

We don't want to see the empty drives (unoccupied slots) but want to see them when they are inserted.... Is this possible?

We can access these drives using the drop down menu but it would be nice if the icon would "pop" up :)

I vaguely remember doing something more appropriate when I had the problem.

TIA :)

Try to set HideRemovableNoMedia=1 in [Configuration] section of your wincmd.ini (Help - About will tell you its path).
