New members, introduce yourself here!

Post by *3ICE »

Hi,

Apparently new users need to have at least 1 legitimate (no URLs) post and be registered for more than 1 day before they can post pictures to this forum.

So, this is going to be my first "legitimate" post. And I'll make it useful too!

I can wait with posting the bug report I registered for, and will just post it tomorrow. (I didn't take those beautiful screenshots to then have to work around URL filters...)

So, introduction:
Greetings. My name is Daniel "3ICE" Berezvai and I'd like to welcome all newcomers to the forum!

I'm a student in university. My hobbies are programming and playing computer games. I speak English and Hungarian fluently. I run a website but I can't link it yet, for obvious reasons. Maybe in 24 hours...

--3ICE

p.s.: In my opinion, the anti-spam measures here are very reasonable. I'm not asking for the rules to be more lenient. Not even indirectly.

This topic will serve as a place for other new users -- who find themselves in my shoes -- to post their first legitimate posts in.

Now it's your turn to introduce yourself, post below!

Am I seriously taken for a spammer now...
Fine, I'll blank my sig if that is what you desire.

Edit: for future reference, this was my signature:

I leave my donate links everywhere I go.
When I make a plugin, when I write a small app...

I always encourage people to send me a small donation. That's why I keep a paypal link in my signature on all forums I join.

I'm not begging, I'm providing people the option to thank me with more than words.

Obviously this behavior does not fly too well here and therefore I have ceased doing it.

Especially since I have not contributed anything to Total Commander, so far. So it really must have looked like begging.

Edit: This has not been the kind of welcome new users should get. Hopefully it doesn't scare away other newcomers...

Man, just cool down. I believe everyone is welcome here, unless spamming and stuff.

Ask if you have something to ask, contribute somehow if you can, help other users with your answers if you can etc.

If someone wants something more from you s/he will contact you in a topic or send you a private message...

When you ask something and get the answer and/or clarification in return that's when you (should) feel welcomed and accepted...

I don't really think someone cares about my collection of 300 documentaries.
...And this forum has been active for a decade, so what about old members and their introduction?? That's discrimination! :) ...just kidding, but you get the point. If you really want to say something about yourself, I believe you write it somewhere on your profile...not sure though...

...Why am I writing all this...?

Cheers!

I'd love to browse your collection! 300 documentaries, wow! What are they all about?

Didn't really want to say anything about myself... I don't see the point of new members introducing themselves to be honest, but I couldn't come up with anything else on the spot.
I just needed a filler post so I get out of the "you may not post URLs" hole. And this felt like a good theme to go with.
(I filled out my profile first and copied it over to this topic, too.)

I actually thought you were a spambot so I didn't reply

Anyway, welcome to the boards, mate.

Thanks, we're BOTH supposed to receive the extra space

That is, after you install dropbox on your desktop, then we get the extra perk. Anyway, we're both going off-topic...

Cheers
