odt opens folder not Writer

Hello,

When I click on an odt file from TC, OO Writer does not open it; instead it opens the folder and I can see its contents. This does not happen with Explorer. (Win 8, OO 3.4.1, TC 8.0 64 bit)

Please help.

That seems like corrupted file associations. I would try resetting them:

1. in the Start Screen type "Default programs" and open
2. click on "Set your default programs"
3. find "Open Office" in the list (or "Open Office Writer" or something like that - I don't use it so I can't know)
4. click "Choose defaults for this program"
5. in the list make sure ".odt" is checked and confirm and close all those open dialogs

But out of curiosity, can you try this first? Select any .odt file in TC, click on menu Files->Associate With... and click once on the highlighted line. It should become selected. What does it say?

Well, it looks like odt files are handled as archive.
Search your wincmd.ini file for any occurrence of "odt" ...

You may open the odt file at writer by performing a right click on the filename and select the topmost entry (bold) of the context menu.
