TortoiseSVN icon overlays don't work on Windows 2008R2 64bit

Post by *pingmustard »

So I've been using TortoiseSVN with TotalCmd since version 7.x on various windows machines (windows XP, XP 64, Vista, Win 7 64bit, windows 2003) and it's worked fine. However, it doesn't seem to work on windows 2008 R2 64. I was using totalcmd 7.x prior, and thought upgrading to 8.x might do the trick, but the problem still remains:

1. I don't see the overlay icons
2. The usual context menu's for Tortoise don't exist anywhere.

Things I've already verified:

1. I've already checked the icon overlays are enabled (closed and re-opened to make sure).
2. Run as administrator.
3. Installed both Tortoise 32 bit and 64 bit.

Anything else I should try? Again, this is on a windows 2008R2 64 bit machine. My other machines work fine.

1. I don't see the overlay icons
TC: Configuration->Options...->Icons
[X] Show overlay icons
2. The usual context menu's for Tortoise don't exist anywhere.
This means they are visible in Explorer but not in TC?

Don't know if this is relevant, but tortoise has a setting to show overlays and context menu only in explorer:
http://tortoisesvn.net/docs/release/TortoiseSVN_en/tsvn-dug-settings.html
Section: "Icon Overlay Settings"
[_] Show overlays and context menu only in Explorer

That second option did the trick! I had to uncheck it on Tortoise 32 bit setting (the 64 bit already had it unchecked -- unless the settings are linked somehow when I checked).

Just had to restart TotalCmd and both 7.x and 8.x works now.

Thanks a bunch!! :)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
