Archive contents RAR-file

Post by *FVG »

Can't find the option to show only archive contents
after entering the password of the archive.
The content is show already before the password is entered (as it was before)

Why should TC hide the names if an archive doesn't use the encryption for filenames ?

If you check the option 'encrypt' when creating a RAR-archive, is it not logical that the content of the archive can only be viewed after entering the password of the archive?

FVG,
I think you're talking about this issue.

No, its not logical because there is an option ib RAR to encrypt filenames to.
Only when this option is set its necessary to enter a password for seeing the names.
The same logic is part of RAR itself, so why should TC be different ?

Sorry, I suppose it's me, but I can't find an option on the Pack-files window to encrypt filenames to. I have switch my language from Dutch to English to see if I'm missing something but the only checkbox to encrypt is called 'Encrypt' and that is checked.
But when opening a rar-archive created with that box checked, in TC I can see the content of that rar before I have to enter my password

Since this isn't a bug, I have moved this thread to the suggestions forum.
