Please remove write protection may be wrongly displayed

Post by *tetardd »

Further to my request for "Skip all" button:

I'm copying a large number of files (overwriting old ones) and getting the following error message:
Error: cannot write xxx!
Please, remove the write protection.

What I do is removed the files that where there first (the old ones that are overwritten) so that I don't get that error message again. Unfortunately, it still occurs.

Please provide more details.

Which versions are you using (TC, Windows. 32 or 64-bit)?
Which target location reports the write protection?

You may not have write rights to the target, e.g. because it's a protected location like "c:\program files". Try the "As administrator" option.

It's the latest TC (8.01), 64 bits, Windows 7.
I'm also copying from my Documents to a external hard drive (in essence backing up files in My Document), so i don't think it's a problem with protected folders.

2tetardd: What are your settings at "Configuration - Options - Operation - Copy/Delete"?
Is "Use standard copy method" enabled or do you use individual settings?
