++ I was missing it too since the very first time I needed to use the search function on the board.

@ghisler(Author):
Would it be possible to add a mod like this one to the current phpbb2 version? (although I'm not sure about the currently used exact subversion, it may work)

if tip from above (hack) would not be possible to use nor upgrade phpBB version up to any version with seraching in topics title only is not possible what about force to google bot has most possibilities crawling across your forums (index each content inside forums her- (some SEO or parameters necesary force to google bot run threw all threads ? i don´t know), but after that I would use something like that

anything site:ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php?f=3

I think that halfAI abilities of google searching is better that internal search inside only message bodies function here ...

AFAIK the site: statement only uses the url part, not the parameter part ("?f=3").

So if the urls could be rewritten for example like this:

Code: Select all

http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php?f=3&start=50
becomes

Code: Select all

http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php/3?start=50
Then google searching for "site:ghisler.ch/board/viewforum.php/3" would work.
