8.50 beta 11:Confusing/Useless Copy Progress Dialog

I have been using another tool lately, but returned to trusty TC for a large project of consolidating several old USB 2.0 external drives to a couple of large modern internal SATA drives. Several terabytes total to be copied, very slowly.

It's been a while since I have needed to monitor the progress of a large copy task in TC. As I type this post, copying is proceeding normally, but the information displayed in the dialog is essentially useless.

Image here. (Note that the resized the dialog exposes incorrect control anchoring for the Pause and Foreground buttons.)

Questions:

• 1) What do the numbers in the dialog mean?
  
  2) Is there a new setting or some other method of displaying overall copy progress (not just individual file progress) in the dialog?

PS. When this copy task completed, the background dialog froze (image here) and TC itself locked up. I had to use Task Manager to force-close TC.

It might be Windows that started to flush cache... With no limit it may move gigabytes to cache until there is no more memory available.

Hmmm... OK, thanks! Perhaps more explicit labeling would be useful ("Files copied", "Bytes copied").

Clicking to see remaining files/bytes is not "discoverable". Click what?

Also how do I display the overall progress in "addition to" or "instead of" the individual file progress? (The green progress indicator that displays in the task bar is for the individual files.)

TC is configured to use the standard copy method. Does that make a difference?

I searched the forum for recent relevant posts and didn't find anything helpful. Am I once again missing something obvious?

My INI had that value set to 0.

Seems an important enough setting that it should be exposed in the Configuration dialog.

Configuration > Options > Operation > Calculate space occupied by subdirectories > before copying/deleting.
And, this option is enabled by default.

It may not be obvious to the general user how that "calculate-space-occupied" option directly controls the appearance of the progress dialog (that is, one progress bar versus two).

After reflection, of course, it is obvious...

...but in this modern world one might reasonably expect to find an independent area in the Configuration dialog related to customizing the appearance of the progress window in addition to the behavior of the copy process.
