Okay, I've installed and all I'm able to preview in Quick View is mp3 and photos.
Sorry to be such a noob, but I've searched and just don't see how to set this up. Under Configuration-->Edit/View-->Configure internal viewer, it shows under Multimedia AVI, WAV... -- none of my videos are this formats, which are quite old. All my videos are mp4s and mkvs.
Can Total Commander preview mp4s and mkvs?
I have all codecs needed in my system for all video previews. Windows Explorer preview pane can preview all my video and pdfs and image, etc.
So how do I set up Total Commander to do this?
How to configure quick view -- please assist!

You can try Mmedia 2.55
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/mmedia.html
And you need to modify "mmedia.ini" (refer to readme.txt in wlx_mmedia255.zip)
After test, it can preview .mp4 files in my computer.
But I don't know why it can not preview .mkv files.
