quick search for different languages, shortcuts next folder

Post by *Valman »

Greets to everyone,

I know it is very strange what i ask, but i was wondering whether it is possible to make the "quick search" function perform search by keys and not by letters.

Eg, if I search for SER (english keyboard), i would like to find ΣΕΡ too (greek keyboard) without changing the language via the OS shortcut.

If not, maybe to search for two different languages without changing language?

Also, irrelevant to the above. It is possible to assign a keyboard shortcut to navigate to the next/previous folder of the current folder?

I use autohotkey for this, but i would like to avoid having tc stuff to autohotkey as much as possible.

thank you for your time!:)

Hmm, how should TC know which encoding it should use then?

Well, i don't know whether it would be easy to implement, but perhaps use both encodings with one search? :)

Personally, I think it would be extremely useful, although it may be difficult/complicated to implement because there are so many languages and there is no universal way to map the letters from one language to the other. Maybe let the user define languages and maps for each letter?

Eg if the files are:

abc
jjj
αβψ
klp
abc

If you type abc, then abc is focused. Then if you press the cursor downwards, αβψ is focused. Next hit would be the next abc and so on.

Try the plugin 'Quick Search Extended'

It works as you want. Of course, you should make a replacement rules for your language.

This is really a nice plugin which should be integrated into a main program, IMO.
