Unable to write to wincmd.ini

Post by *realphoto »

Hello,
can you help me? For approx. 3 weeks it´s unable to write to wincmd.ini so all tabs are always the same when I run TCMD. How to repair it? Wincm.ini is not "only for read".

I think you've installed TC under Program Files folder or something similar where only admins can write, and only when you start programs elevated. Try to edit TC installation folder permissions and add write access for Users group: until you start TC elevated, you are a member of this group only and not Administrators one.

I AM administrator and owner of the PC. Anyway I changed settings to allow ALL users make changes (noone works on this PC except me) but it still doesn´t work.

With Windows 7 even if you are administrator, your programs run with user permissions by default (until you select 'Run as Administrator' and confirm UAC warning).

Please open Help - About in TC and read where your configuration files are placed, then check that you are able to edit and save them from TC using F4 key.

As I said, open file properties, Security tab, press Change button, check all allow options for Users group and apply changes.
