How to reassociate TC with .SFV & .MD5?

Post by *Total_Loving »

Hi, I have installed TeraCopy to try it out, and mistakenly associated it with both .SFV & .MD5, so after deinstallation of TeraCopy, DOUBLE-CLICKING on .SFV or .MD5 DOESN'T start hash checker in TC, but instead it lunches "associate with..." dialog!
But if I mark the files and than go to Files-->Verify CRC Checksums it will lunch hash checker, but double-clicking will not work.

How do I reassociate double-clicking on .SFV & .MD5 files with lunching them in TC's inbuilt hash checker?

P.S.
Does maybe someone reading this knows how to associate TC "Delete" button with TeraCopy's delete function?

Thank you people for making TC such a powerful and irreplaceable tool!

No way, because you have already uninstalled TeraCopy ;)

Just remove the existing association. The way how to do it, depends on the method you have used:
a) "Files - associate with ..."
- select the according entry
- Press"Edit type" button
- select the according entry
- Press "Remove" button

b) "Files - Internal associations ..."
- select the according entry
- Press "Delete" button

Thank you so much! Yesterday I was reading how TC runs internal stuff (if available) when files are not associated with any other program to deal with them. But I didn't know how to unassociate an unassociated file in TC (up until now tnx to you, I must say).

So, this is the method that I used:

* In TC I marked .sfv/.md5 file
* then went to "Files" --> "Associate With..."
* "Associate" dialog box opens
* In "Associate With:" I entered "(none)"
* clicked on "OK"

And now TC lunches Hash checker when I double-click on .sfv or .md5 files, again!

God bless
