[EXIF] Recommended tool to clear selective parameters?

Post by *yetanotherlogin »

Hello

I need to select a bunch of pictures and clear their "Orientation" setting in the EXIF data.

In the Plugins page, Exif 2.3 from 2011 seems to only display data, but not edit them.

Is there another plug-in available for TC I should check, or some independent application?

Thank you.

Erm, there's JPG comment (HomePage), which is able to edit the field by:
Files -> Change Attributes.

But you cannot "clear" the field, just edit/set it to another value.
TC plugins: PCREsearch and RegXtract

It would be really cool to have a tiny EXIF plugin with edit feature... When I do a lossless rotate with Imagine, it doesn't change orientation in EXIF and then wrongly rotates accorging to EXIF...

At least ImageMetaData can do it but I guess it is not tiny enough for you.
TC plugins: Autodesk 3ds Max / Inventor / Revit Preview, FileInDir, ImageMetaData (JPG Comment/EXIF/IPTC/XMP), MATLAB MAT-file Viewer, Mover, SetFolderDate, Solid Edge Preview, Zip2Zero and more

You can try Nconvert from XnView. It is a cli program so it is very easy to make a custom command in TC to whatever action you like.
