Custom columns for specific folders

Post by *bowelripper »

Hello. Is it possible to make a custom column view the default for certain folders? For example, I would like to have a custom column with bitrate etc. for my music folder. So I don't have to right click and choose the custom column every time.

Create new folder tab for your folder (Ctrl+T) then select your custom column.

Each folder tab preserve its view settings.

By the way, is it possible to have info like bitrate in the tooltip box when holding the pointer on an mp3/etc. file?

Ofc. Configuration - Display - User-defined [+]. But you may need to install corresponding content plugin from totalcmd.net in order to get such info (there are plenty).

But is it possible to select the column view based on a preselected folder.

For example when c:/music is opened, the columns with bit rate are automatically displayed? And when for example c:/pictures is selected, the thumbnail view is automatically active. This works better, because when the folder tab is closed, the setting is lost.

You can lock the tab to prevent its closing.
The only way to save folder view mode I know is TWinKey plugin, but I don't know if it is available for non-Russian users.

TWinKey is a powerful TC extender designed to improve and simplify most common navigation tasks and enhance TC "look&feel" experience by adding a variety of custom coloring capabilities. It comes with a great configuration utility (TWinKey Utilisator) that allows fast and easy modification of all TWinKey parameters. It is recommended to place button for starting TWinKey Utilisator on TC buttonbar.

Requirements

TWinKey 3.111 (or later) requires at least TC 8.0 (backward compatibility with TC 7.5 is not fully tested)
