Disappearing tabs
Hello ladies and gentlemen. After unsuccessful shutdown TC showed empty right panel, which was missing all my 900+ tabs. When I looked inside wincmd.ini, I found that tabs are still there, but TC refused to show them even when I tried to truncate those 900 to 10.
It took me an hour to figure out that there has to be 'activetab' parameter.
It's a shame how totalcmd.ini is documented, how easily you can lose results of your work and (as a result) how developer treats their customers.
Question to Christian: why users have to figure out themselves or use this forum? Why TC has worst documentation, while it's paid software? While Switzerland is known for it's high quality standards, it's really a shame that I can't call this software 'swiss-made'.
(sorry for rant)

I'm even afraid to imagine how your panel with 900+ tabs looks and how do you switch between them...
I would prefer using directory hotlist (Ctrl+D) instead of huge ammount of tabs. However, I recommend you to save your important tabs sets to external files using corresponding commands from tab header context menu.

You have not even tried to read the help file which contains all ini file settings.useretail wrote:Hello ladies and gentlemen. And if you realy use 900+ tabs you should think about some other ideas and not crying about a software which most users users like and have paid only once for all versions.
I think that you are not the right type of user for Toral Commander.

Looks like you're wrong buddy:

It is only mentioned (without any explanation) under 'Folder tabs'. There's no even a word that this parameter is compulsory.

Someone must blame himself when unsuccessful shutdown or power failure occurs and he loses his valuable work, what happen to TC could happen to any other App.
Wincmd.ini contains many important settings that i had spent years configuring it, so i always backup it (and other TC setting files) at least once a week.

Can you describe steps to reproduce? This may help Ghisler to fix.useretail wrote:In addition I found that under certain circumstances TC won't save 'activetab' parameter,
i remembered a bug report which similar to this one http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=38465

I would much rather see a screenshot of 900+ tabs

Not so hard to imagine (e.g. with HD+ resolution):I would much rather see a screenshot of 900+ tabs
20+ tabs in 45+ rows, labeled with renamed numbers from 1 to 900+, leaving one line for the file panel content

Btw. TC's startup/shutdown is slow with such an amount of tabs.
