(Some) File dates not preserved on move/copy

I've noticed a very strange new effect when copying/moving files. After the operation, the new file has the time changed to the time of the move/copy. This happen for both operations on the same drive or between drives. I am using Win 7 Enterprise with drive encryption turned on.

However it does not happen on all files. So far, I've only seen it on some files (.png, .exe) and not on others (.txt and .avi).

I haven't been able to find a similar issue, and any insight would be welcome.

TC uses a standard Windows function (CopyFileEx) to copy files, which does the timestamp copying (not TC itself). The problem you describe is sometimes caused by badly writting antivirus software. Since this software is usually only tested with Explorer, you can try to use the Explorer copy method also in Total Commander: Configuration - Options - Copy/Delete - Explorer.

The line says "Use explorer delete method . . ." May we assume that also includes copy? Or am I on the wrong page?

The page is correct, but untick "Use standard copy method (recommended)" and then select "Use copy+paste via Explorer (only in case of copy problems)"
