User Account Control interferes with dragging

Post by *tcebob »

Windows 7.

I am used to dragging directories and files between windows. But recently I needed to turn on UAC in order to have Avast scan automatically when the computer is asleep. Now I get nagged for a simple copy.

I've never encountered this problem before. Perhaps TC needs to be reinstalled? Or, the heck with it, I'll set up Avast in Windows Task Scheduler.

Well, this behavior is not related to TC.

It is a security feature of Windows:
You cannot drag and drop from a window that is running under a normal user account (even an administrative user does so) to a window running elevated (started as administrator).
