Dragging from Acrobat page thumbnails don't work
Hi to all!
I use a lot function to drag a page from acrobat (not reader) page thumbnails to desktop to extract a page from a pdf. But it work ok if I drag to desktop, but don't work with Total Commander. Is there something that cam be changed to make this function work also with TC or it is a matter of Acrobat "standards"?
Thank you

It's also possible that Acrobat is providing a format which is unknown to TC. You can use a tool like "clipboard format viewer" to see the provided formats. Just drag the thumb over the program (can't drop it) to see the provided formats:

If one page is extracted on Desktop than a file with the name in german language "Unbenannte extrahierte Seiten.pdf" was created. It's also possible that Acrobat is providing a format which is unknown to TC.
The Problem is, that if one page will be drawn to TC only a crossed circle is shown and one cannot let fall the extract into TC's window.
Kind regards,
Karl
Well, you should answer the question whether TC is running as administrator.

Hi,
a) in properties of Administrator the account is de-activated -
therefore I think TC is not running as Administrator - but I am not complete sure...
b) but even if I start TC as Administrator (Button with:
*"%COMMANDER_EXE%" /N or right click and "run as Administrator"
I get the Symbol circle with "backslash in it".

It doesn't matter if the administrator account is enabled or not. I'll rephrase the question: Is TC running elevated, i.e. is your username followed by a caret in the title of TC's window? Or did you right-click the shortcut to launch TC and chose "Run As Administrator" (or "Als Administrator ausführen" in German) from the context menu?
In case you can answer all above questions with "No": Can you drag or drop normal files to/from other applications?

Whatever I have tried, i.e.
1) TC not running elevated (without caret...)
2) TC running elevated (with caret...)
2a) starting with a button for TC
2b) TC "run as Administrator"
it's only possible to get the extract on the Desktop and not in TC's window.
But additionally I can drop an extract into the window of the Windows Explorer or in a Folder of Windows Explorer.

As mentioned above, a pdf-file is created from a page thumbnail of a pdf-file (with several pages).
The name of the file is "Unnamed extracted pages.pdf" -. ... in german language "Unbenannte extrahierte Seiten.pdf"
It seems that only 1 page (thumbnail) can be extracted at a time.
Windows 7 Prof. - 64 Bit/Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

Clipboard Viewer
1) If I pull the thumbnail in the window of "Clipboard format Viewer"Just drag the thumb over the program (can't drop it) to see the provided formats:
I cannot see any change but only the crossed circle (circle with a backslash inside).
2) If I pull the thumbnail on the Desktop a pdf-file will be created but nothing changes in the "Clipboard Viewer".

I tried mentioned tool, it seems that it can only show copied data, not dragged. However this one supports dragging too. You can try it with Acrobat.
I try Clipboard Viewer but don't work, because no clipboard is used.
I try Drag&Drop and Clipboard formats viewer and this is the screen shot of the results, if can help.
Note that from Acrobat you can drag also more that one page.

Drop not possible to ClipboardFormatViewer | no change
Thank you for the link, MVV.
- it is not possible to drop thumbnail page of Acrobat neither to Clipboard Viewer nor to ClipboardFormatViewer. In both cases I get a circle crossed.
It does not matter if TC has Admin-Rights or not.
- Additionally I have watched the ClipboardFormatViewer (made hardcopies before dropping thumbnail and after having finished creating a pdf-file on Desktop) - the entries were identically, nothing has changed.
