Button bar option for TC9 ? run as Administrator mode

Post by *jslegers »

Hello,

I have a suggestion for Total Commander 9. It would be nice if you could make an option in the Change Button Bar editor to run a button in Administrator mode. I know that there is an command line tool sudo.exe that can do the trick but it would be nice if we can set it per button.

Now I run TC As Administrator to run some tools I use for example OFSMount to mount iso files and create a RAM Disk.

Off Topic : On our work desktops it works without issues even with running as Administrator really strange :?

This function is already available.
If you start the name of the program with "*" its will run enhanced.

A real enhancement would be some modifier to start an normal button with enhanced rights (eg. Ctrl or Shift on button klick).

In addition, right click a button and choose As Administrator from the context menu.

BTW you can use mentioned Sudo.exe per button, just insert its path in front of path to a program, just like *. Since TC supports *, it is easier to use it there but some other places don't support * and Sudo is useful there. E.g. I use F4Menu tool and one of its editors is sudoed F4Menu so I can start every editor elevated or not.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
