Make a tab which points to a folder on the c:drive and a second tab (on the same side, left or right) which points to a folder on a unc path (in my case a rather slow network mapping).
In the configuration dialogbox i added \ to the no refresh editbox. In the opinion that tcmd wouldn't reread the unc path every time. But every time i switch from the tab with the folder on the c:-drive to the tab with the folder on the unc path tcmd rereads the unc path.
If i activate the tab with the unc path and switch from tcmd to another program, tcmd doesn't reread the contents of the unc path but it would be nice if tcmd also didn't reread the unc path if i switch from one tab to another.
Reread of unc path when switching tabs

TC uses only virtual tabs: When you switch tabs, TC has to read the directory shown on that tab. The directory listings of the other tabs are not preserved, only the locations.

Ok, i didn't know.
When i select files in a tab, switch to another tab and back, those same files are still selected.
Because of that i had the impression that you saved the directory listing.
Does preserving the directory listing implicate big changes ?
..otherwise i would like to mark it as a "feature request"

Yes, it would mean big changes - not preserving the listing, but checking when a refresh would be needed. TC would either have to watch all the directories which are on tabs (which locks them from being deleted), or re-read them if you switch away from TC and back.
