Hi,
I am in the process of customizing the colors in the file panel.
The main difficulty I am having is with customizing the cursor color and the marked file colors. That is because the two options "Use inverted colors" and "Use inverted selection" are mutually exclusive. I think that this is a defect.
Also, I have some related suggestions. I would like to:
1) have a color-filled background for both the cursor and the selected files. I can't have this because of the mutually exclusive options mentioned above. This is an annoying limitation.
2) I would like to be able to define the color of the Mark+Cursor text independently, regardless of the defined Mark Color.
3) I would like to define a specific background (filling) color for the cursor when a file is selected. Currently, only one background color can be defined for the cursor, which stays the same regardless of whether the file is marked or not.
All these limitations would be easily overcome by adding to the color setting menu a few more entries, which would allow the colors to be set in a fully independent way.
In addition to the limitations (not being able to fully customize the colors as the user would want), I believe that the two options "Use inverted colors" and "Use inverted selection" are somewhat confusing. Implementing a more granular way of defining colors (by adding a few more entries) would make the "Use inverted colors" and "Use inverted selection" redundant, which in my opinion should be eliminated.
Thank you
Tyler
Annoying limitations in color settings

Well, I don't remember similar requests for years so it seems that not all users need such variety of color settings.
I can only mention that there is a way to enable specific focus rectangle when something is selected, and it may be mixed with inverted cursor's filling. You can add an INI option SelectionFocus to Configuration section of wincmd.ini. E.g. I've set it to $300FFFF ($3000000 for solid and $00FFFF for yellow) and it adds a solid yellow frame to my inverted cursor. Please refer to TOTALCMD.chm section 4.b for the details.
