BTW, winmerge works. But TC shows differences in lines much smarter and tidy

How does Winmerge handle editing when lines are hidden?

How? Simple. It does not allow to edit if in limited context mode :-D

Ah, that's indeed a simple solution. I'm sure users are going to complain if I do this in TC. But maybe it's worth the troubles...

I think you can try showing more lines when user moves cursor to a cut part (e.g. at least 3 lines between cut part and cursor position)...

In WINmerge(only that inofficial build) you can choose CONTEXT (no of surrounding lines around difference.
And if You are viewing ALL (no skipping) you can edit it.
You (maybe )can trick it out in that way: if you switch from CONTEXTx to ALL, cursor remains in same position (line)
I didn't needed to edit in THAT mode...
