External wiper may be used easilly from buttonbar. You only need a one that supports filelists in a command line.

hi
yes i know
i use WipeFile and i use %P%S to send files and folders to total commander

but my point is that a lengendary program like total commander should include a wiper

but can't find any info related to %P%S in the guide ? why?

thanks

Open buttonbar button or EM-command edit dialog and press F1, and TC will open exactly the page you're looking for. :)

I don't think that tools that may be easilly attached to TC should be embedded into it - this will slowdown developing of features that are already embedded or new ones that can't be called externally (there are so many requests for such features!).
Also external tools may be developed independently and there may be a freedom of choice. E.g. I need a tool for NTFS links creation and I use NTLinks Maker (someone else uses some other tool that he likes more), and I can develop or improve it myself and don't need to wait when Mr. Ghisler finds some time to develop or improve it.

Is wiping still effective when using SSDs?

No: Sensitive data may be still readable if you have low-level access to the flash memory until the wear leveling algorithm erases the flash pages holding the old data clusters.

Yes: The live time of the flash memory will be decreased effectively by superfluous write cycles.
