Problem accessing another user's folder with TC

Post by *wanderer »

Here's the situation:

- OS is Windows 7 SP1 x64
- Logged in as local admin
- Open TC (32bit version)
- Try to access C:\Users\<A_Domain_User_Account>
- Asks for "run as admin" permission (even though i've disabled UAC - from the UI, not from command-line).
- I give local admin's credentials

The message "Error executing program ...tcmadmin.exe..." appears (... = i'm too bored to write them :) )

Since i don't have time for debugging, what may be happening? Is it the 32bit TC version? Local admins cannot access domain account folders?

The same thing happens if i enter <A_Domain_User_Account>'s credentials in "as admin" window.

EDIT: Also, the same with TCx64

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Please type the following in the Total Commander command line (above F5, F6 etc) and press ENTER:
cd %commander_path%

This brings you to the directory where TC is installed. Please check whether the tcmadmin.exe (or its 64-bit sibling) exists. If not, you may need to reinstall Total Commander. If it does, you do not have the rights to run programs as admin.
