File icons with text underneath

Is it possible to display file icons with text underneath (similar to Windows Explorer)? The "Thumbnails Preview" is not what I mean.

Just enable Brief view (Ctrl-F1) or "Show - Brief"

That just shows the small file icon with the filename and extension to the right.

I was looking for something more like the larger icons with text underneath, next to each other like Windows Explorer.

Actually, I think the Thumbnail Preview is fine

Is it possible to increase the size of the icons used when no preview is shown? I've set the preview icon size to 128 x 128, but then the icon for when no previous is shown is very small in comparison.

Selection of items (with shift and arrow keys) in Preview mode is not intuitive. And it's a pity that previewing PDFs seems to be a lot of work to set up ...

You can install HTMLView and press Ctrl+Q - then the opposite filepanel will show the files and folders as Explorer does - here you can right click and choose between Explorers different views.
