Open files on FTP server with associated program

Post by *Lefteous »

When establishling a connection on a FS plugin based connection e.g. webdav, cloud or secure ftp double-clicking on a file or pressing enter will download the file temporarily and open the local file. This doesn't work for ftp connections.
I know that I can use the edit function by pressing F4. This means the mechanism is already there but isn't implemented for opening files with associated program.
Suggestion: Opening files should work regardless from the technical solution used for connecting.

This is disabled by default, it would be very risky especially with anonymous FTP servers to launch a program or open an unknown document without scanning it first.

Is there an option to enable opening files with associated program (globally or connection-specific)?

No, currently not. Alt+F3 with custom programs does work, though.
