complete freeze using calendar in search tool

Post by *Aurelien »

Hi Christian,

i encounter a complete TC freeze using TC 8.52a 64 or 32 bits when using the file search dialog, under the following conditions :
- Alt+F7 for opening the file search dialog
- go to the second tab "additional"
- check "date from"
- click on the double arrow to open the date/time dialog
- click on the small arrow next the calendar icon
- choose a date by clicking on a day
-> the calendar disappear and the date/time zone goes blank, and TC is completely frozn

-> i have to kill TC task

Not confirmed for TC 8.52a x64 and x86 under Windows 10
I can select a day without freeze and it works as expected.

Not confirmed for TC 8.52a x64 and x86 under Windows 7 SP1 x64. Works fine here ...
It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

Not confirmed for TC 8.5.2a x64 and x86. So far testet under Windows 7 SP1 x64 and Windows 10 x64.

BTW the second tab is called "Advanced" - not "Additional" and it is the field is called "Date between" not "date from".

I even tried to set a date that is newer than the date in the second field (the "and" field) - but no errors

Can't confirm this either.

Must be something on your system that interferes with other processes, probably anti-virus software or something like that.

I'm under Windows 10 Pro, too.
It's 100% reproducible on my machine.

is there a way to activate some kind of debug mode ?

Stopped both Comodo antivirus and MalwareBytes AntiExploit with no success

The problem i encountered seems to be caused by TeamViewer's QuickConnect option.
A double arrow is displayed in the caption of applications, allowing to present.
Shutting down TeamViewer solves the problem.

While having TeamViewer active and the calendar disappeared, bringing TeamViewer in front, then hiding it make the calendar to appear again.

So i disabled the QuickConnect option.

Seems that TotalCommander is not the only application annoyed by this button :

Ah, TeamViewer again. This piece of software has been causing quite some trouble, especially for Delphi applications like TC.

No, don't kill yourself, just consider when reporting a bug, the next time to switch TC to English temporarily to see the actual legend - it makes it easier for the rest of us, when we don't have to sit and guess our way through a bug report ;-)
