Problem with ALT+F1/F2 followed by up/down

Post by *aescov »

Hi

I have recently installed 8.52a onto a brand new windows 10 laptop.

I am experiencing strange behavior with ALT+F1/F2 followed by the up/down keys. I am used to be able to browse through the drive list with the up/down button and change drive when pressing enter.

Currently as soon as i press up/down, total commander goes directly to that drive (next or/previous in the list) without any "enter" key press. As a result i am only able to change to a "neighbor drive" this way.

Any ideas why this happens on this new install ?

Best regards

Anders

Some users had this in the past when they had either a secure password manager installed, or a keylogger. These tools can install a so called keyboard hook, which listens directly to all keyboard input. If they hook doesn't pass the keys correctly to the running programs, TC may get the wrong notifications.

On regular Windows 10, this shouldn't happen - I have tested it both on a real device and on virtual machines.

Hi

Thank you for the feedback, after some investigation I found that the problem was the synergy service for sharing keyboard and mouse between multiple machines, that caused the problem. After disabling this service total commander operates as expected again.
