CRC/Checksum with sha256 (+Reason.)

Post by *alexm600 »

Sha1 is going down, they say.
For security reasons, I have a recursive sha1 check, I hit it once on the numbers I remember and all the gigabytes get checked.
It's better to keep your keys in the door if you have the muscle to hit back, but not the idiocy to run like a rabbit. Don't ask the circumstances.
So I guess I'll need the sha256 crc. Why would You want it? Out of pure mental discipline- think about it, it wises the user up to be able to put a finger on the top of the temporal mountain of certainty.
I'll search for some plugin, but review from the bosses is high up there.
I found in update logs: "This is mainly a bugfix release, there are only minor new features like SHA256 checksum checking.", but I don't have it. What happened to it?
